My Approach to Wedding Films

I’ve always had a deep love for music. Curating the perfect playlist for any situation is one of my favorite things to do—and if you scrolled through my Spotify, you’d definitely pick up on that. One of my creative strengths is connecting with a song on an emotional level. I basically live with my AirPods in.

I'll link one of my favorite playlists below—these are songs I come back to again and again.

Now, back to wedding films. I bring up music because it plays such a huge role in how I approach each film. Music holds emotion, memory, and energy—and choosing the right track can completely transform the way a moment feels. That’s the first part of my process: finding a song that doesn’t just fit, but elevates. I’ll hear something and immediately think, this belongs here. That’s the magic I chase.

To me, this is more than just a job. There’s nothing like finding the perfect song that gives you goosebumps when paired with a beautiful moment. Before a wedding, I usually have a few ideas in mind—but I’ve never once used the exact song I thought I would. That’s why being present matters so much. I pay attention to what’s important to the couple—the vibe, the people, the small details. The energy of the day always leads the way.

When I watch my films back, I always see areas to improve—and I am learning constantly. But when it comes down to it, I know I have something unique to offer in this space. I’m so excited to keep growing technically and to keep pairing that with my creative instincts and emotional intuition.

Another core part of my approach is authenticity. I’m not about perfectly posed, overly polished films. Sure, a few styled shots are great for aesthetic (and yes, we’ll get those)—but they’re not the focus. I want to create something real. Something honest. I go by the phrase: not perfect, but truthful. That’s what drives me.

Documentary style is what I gravitate toward—capturing the morning tears while getting ready, the quiet in-between moments, the chaos and joy of the dance floor, the final send-off. When I’m not directing you all day and instead just watching you be yourselves, I can really capture something that feels true. That’s what I’m after.

Officiant seeing the bride before the groom does. I LOVE THIS ONE!

I want you to watch your film and feel exactly how you felt that day.

So why choose me? Because in a world where many people see this as just a job—I don’t. I honestly don’t even see it as work. It’s a passion. It’s something that lights me up. That hunger to create something meaningful and emotional—that’s what sets me apart.

Yes, cinematic shots are beautiful (and yes, I’d love a drone someday)—but 10 years from now, you probably won’t remember the drone shot. You’ll remember how you felt. And that’s what I focus on: the feeling, the emotion, the heart of your day.

I’m here for you. And your wedding film isn’t just another project—it’s something I pour my entire heart into. I want it to hold meaning for years to come, to give you chills even decades down the road. I’ve cried editing films for people I’ve never met before the wedding day—that’s how much it moves me.

This is one of the best days of your life—and in a way, mine too. Filming weddings have been some of the best days of my life. It’s truly a privilege.

Not perfect, but truthful.
